Abstract: FINANCIAL DECISION-MAKING PROCESSES IN MULTINATIONAL CORPORATIONS

This research investigates the financial decision-making processes within multinational corporations (MNCs). The study aims to identify key factors influencing financial decisions, evaluate the effectiveness of current decision-making frameworks, and analyze the impact of these decisions on overall corporate performance. A survey research design is employed to gather data from financial executives in MNCs. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 200 MNCs was determined to ensure comprehensive analysis. The focus is on MNCs operating in Lagos, Nigeria, due to their significant economic impact. The reliability coefficient score of the survey instrument is 0.89, indicating high reliability. Findings indicate that strategic financial decision-making significantly enhances MNC performance, with critical decisions revolving around investment, financing, and dividend policies. It is recommended that MNCs refine their decision-making frameworks to incorporate advanced financial analysis tools and ensure alignment with global best practices.
